Dayboat Experience: (from our Brassknocker Base)

For a special occasion, for an exclusive experience, for someone special or just to have a great day out exploring the canal with your friends or family. Swift can be hired as a day boat for the day carrying up to 10 guests. Onboard you'll find the boat has a kitchen with hob/oven / microwave, fridge, toilet/bathroom, seating at the front & rear, a foldaway dining table & television. You are welcome to bring your own food and drink or you can stop off at the various pubs, cafes, tearooms, and restaurants you'll find along the canal towpath. Alternatively, you can order a luxury picnic hamper from our base with Gourmet Delicious catering.

If you feel, you'd rather not steer the boat then we can supply a skipper who will accompany your party at an extra cost. Full day skipper £ 100

Swift is very simple to operate, whether you are new to canals or an experienced boater You will be given a full handover/instructions of the boat before departure and soon you too could be cruising on the Kennet and Avon Canal for an exciting day out on the cut.

Please note a pre-authorisation deposit is required using a valid debit / credit card

Where to Stop, Eat, and Explore on Your Journey:

As a guide - Leaving Bath, approx 1 hour later, you will arrive at Bathampton where you'll find the George pub. Approximately 2.5 hours from leaving Bath you will arrive at Dundas aqueduct our most popular destination / day out where a short walk away is The Angelfish Restaurant / Cafe which serves food & drink all day ( Booking large parties is recommended ) Approximately 3.5 / 4 hours from leaving Bath with NO stopping on the way, you will arrive at Avoncliff aqueduct where the Cross Guns pub is ( We don't recommend travelling this far simply because there is little time for you to enjoy a pint & some food before returning ). Please note, Bradford on Avon is too far to cruise there and back in a day.)

Hire times:

We do have different hire time options available in the spring, summer & early autumn, light permitting. During the winter months and with an ice free canal, the boats are available for shorter periods ( as the light starts to fade from 3 p.m. )

Please NOTE: We will allocate a time slot to you according to our availability and we will always suggest the first 2 time slots.

April – September (7.5 hours)

• 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• 10:30 AM – 6:00 PM (No later) (This time slot is only offered occasionally to you by us if our first 2 slots have been booked)

October 1st – 14th (6.5 hours)

• 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM
• 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM (No later)

October 15th – 31st (5.5 hours)

• 9:30 AM – 3:00 PM
• 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• 10:30 AM – 4:00 PM (No later)

November – March (5 hours)

• 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM
• 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• 10:30 AM – 3:30 PM (No later)

  Important: If the boat is returned later than your designated time slot, we reserve the right to charge a late fee of up to £100.

  Additionally, we kindly ask that the boat is returned in the same condition in which you found it, with no washing up left behind and removing all rubbish.
