To book the Dundas Delight electric boat, call 01225 447276. Same-day hire may be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
No worries! Our staff will guide you through the boat controls, operating procedures, and navigation rules before you set off. Our easy-to-use day boats feature a simple forward and reverse lever and a wheel, making them perfect for beginners. Full instructions and navigational details are provided on board. Buoyancy aids are available on request and must be worn by children under 12 at all times. In bad weather, the canvas top can be pulled back for cover.
Our Dundas Delight dayboats accommodate up to eight passengers and offer a quiet, eco-friendly way to explore the canal. Featuring a folding canopy for sun and rain protection, the boat also has a cabin with windows for scenic views and additional rear seating. It’s easy to steer and glides silently with no noise or pollution. Please note: There is no toilet or kitchen on board. For boats with these facilities, check availability at our other base.
Subject to availability, multiple boats can be hired for larger groups. However, racing, bumper boats, and similar activities are not permitted. Ideal for celebrations, hen parties, and group gatherings, you’re welcome to decorate the boat with bunting, banners, and balloons, and even dress up in themed outfits like sailors or pirates for a fun and memorable experience!
You’re welcome to bring your own food and drinks or stop at the many pubs, cafés, tearooms, and restaurants along the canal towpath. For added convenience, you can pre-order a luxury picnic hamper from our base with Gourmet Delicious, ready for you on arrival. Alternatively, enjoy a meal at the Angelfish Restaurant at the base, offering breakfast, snacks, cakes, ice cream, hot meals, cream teas, and drinks.
On a full-day hire, you’ll have plenty of time to cruise eastward across both aqueducts, stopping at Avoncliff or Bradford on Avon, where you’ll find places to eat and explore. Please allow at least 2.5 to 3 hours for the return journey.
Another option is to head west towards Bathampton, reaching our Sydney Wharf base in around 2.5 hours. Here, you’ll soon find 2 pubs called The George and The Bathampton Mill which you can stop off for a meal or drink before making your return trip to Brassknocker Wharf.
Our start time for dayboat hire starts at 9.30 a.m. to allow time for arrival & instruction. If there is a special date you have in mind call us as soon as possible in order to secure the booking. October hire times are shorter due to the reduced daylight. Our electric boats do not go out during November - March.
