DUNDAS DAINTY IS ONLY AVAILABLE ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS AT OUR BRASSKNOCKER SITE (BA2 7JD)
Dundas Dainty are small open topped boats that have no roof but can seat two adults and two children. They have a small electric outboard at the back where you sit allowing you to steer the boat. The engine is powered by batteries that have enough charge to run all day. Please note there is no toilet or kitchen on board. We have other boats from our other base that have these facilities.
You are welcome to bring your own food and drink or you can stop off at the various pubs, cafes, tearooms and restaurants you'll find along the canal towpath. At the base, there is also the Angelfish Restaurant cafe where you can have breakfast, snacks, cakes, ice creams, hot meals, cream teas and hot / cold drinks.
On a full day hire, there is ample time to travel across both aqueducts travelling in an easterly direction, stopping at either Avoncliff or Bradford on Avon where there are places to visit and eat. Please note, you must leave at least 3.5 / 4 hours time for you to travel back to the base. Another option available from our Brassknocker Wharf is travelling in the other direction. It will take you around 3.5 / 4 hours to travel towards Bath, arrive at our other Sydney wharf base, moor up and there you will find a soon to open cafe and toilets you can use. Please allow three - four hours to return to Brassknocker Wharf.
Our start time for dayboat hire starts at 9.30 a.m. to allow time for arrival & instruction. ( Other times can be made later by prior arrangement ) but do book if there is a special date you have in mind in order to reserve the booking. Winter hire times are shorter due to the reduced daylight. Please note a pre-authorisation deposit is required using a valid debit / credit card.
